Hurrican Earl and Hatteras

Our yearly family vacation started off bitter sweet not having my dad around, then due to Earl we had to back up and leave after only being in Hatteras for 2 1/2 days. Someone said that is your dad saying how dare you vacation without me, but i don't believe that for one second. My dad would have wanted us there. He would have wanted us all laughing and having a great time. He would have loved the beach fires and country music Mike had every night, the cannon balls in the hot tub after a few to many drinks, and Captain Mike telling Andy Fox the Outer Banks was his vessel and he was gonna ride it out. It was a short 2 and 1/2 days but boy did we make a lot of new memories during that time. It was the first family vacation without my dad and another new beginning to our new normal.
