Leah's 3rd Birthday

Leah wanted a princess cake for her 3rd birthday, so this is what I came up with. A big thanks goes to my hubby for helping me design this one:) It was actually eaiser than I first thought it would be and best of all, she loved it!!
We had hambugers and hotdogs with all the fixings. And I don't think there is another princess toy left at the store.

The kids had a blast on the trampoline she got from her mom and dad.

We ended the night around 9 with some sparklers. The kids had a blast they kept asking for just one more.

Making Progress with Drywall

Mason is so excitied about his new room, I think that he thinks all of his stuff is coming upstairs, but only his bed and his sisters are. This has been one of the very few times I have seen so much progress in such a quick time frame and it feels good!! We can't wait to get up there:)

My craziness at our house

So this is our bedroom when we first moved in our house 6 years ago. Nothing fancy a mix of this and that from college and other places. But boy was it nice to have a bedroom! We (or I) thought it was be a good idea to give the new baby (Mason) the master bedroom because we had plans to gut the upstairs and make it a Master Suite. This wouldn't take all that long, less than a year right? Oh boy was I wrong! So we backed up our stuff and quickly moved into the guest room to get started on the baby's room. If I only had known that 3 years later, we would still be staying in the guest room with baby number 2 on the way, I would have taken the time to empty a few drawers so our shirts didn't have to stay on top, or take out the other furniture so we wouldn't be wall to wall with dressers. I will not show pictures of the guest room which has become our room over the past few years, but I will show Mason's room prior to all the toys which now consume the room. (He doesn't have a closet to store these toys because my clothes are still in there waiting for my Master Suite)

Three years ago Jason Started the never ending upstairs project. You see when we moved in the down stairs had 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, and the upstairs had 2 bedrooms a small office and a bathroom. The problem was the man living here did a not so great job at his addition. One bedroom had hardwood floors, the other carpet. None of the floors were level and the bathroom was entirely baby blue, yes even the tub and toilet. It was horrible but we saw potential (or at least Jason did when he bought the house:) So Jason began to gut and rebuild from the ground up learning as he went along. Almost every free weekend he has been upstairs. I envy all the weekends my friends get to spend with their hubbys but I know we have saved a lot of money because he did the work himself. Not to sure we could have paid someone to do all the work if we wanted to. Here is where we stand as of today. (Did I mention it was very important for us to get upstairs ASAP because the guest room is going to be the baby's room. And time is passing very quickly)

The upstairs from the top of the steps.

The bathroom and my closet in the back.

The actual bedroom. That large pile of drywall is suppose to be going up this week, and then I will have walls:)

The sitting area at the end that will have a door on it because when we had the great idea of a Master Suite upstairs we didn't have any children and the thought of them sleeping down stairs while we were upstairs had never crossed our mind. Needless to say the sitting are will have a bed and a crib for the kiddies to sleep.

I will keep this updated with our progress. I finally feel like I can see the project coming along (It did take almost a whole year to level the floors) Drywall should take about a week, then its paint, floors, trim, doors, and we will then be moving upstairs. The bathroom will not be complete but I need to get us upstairs so the new baby can have a bedroom. For the past three years I have felt a little displaced, the thought of actually having everything in the right place or at least the right room excites me to no end. I am really excitied to have Jason back on the weekends and at night and I am sure I will need him more than ever with the new baby coming. Stay tuned for updated pictures of our progress:)

Hatteras Vacation September 2009

We are blessed that our families get along so well that we can vacation together!! We only had two good beach days in Hatteras but we found things to do on the other days. We were excitited that Mike was able to join us for the first few days before leaving for bootcamp.

Yes Daisy even made it down for a few days.
Is this Vacation or what!

One of our nice beach days

Mason keeps asking to go back to the big blue house. I asked him what he liked the most "LELE" (his big cousin leah).

Look what they caught

N.C. Aquarium (look how windy it was)

My dad's two brothers were able to join us for a couple of days.

Although the weather wasn't very good, we had a great vacation. It is always nice to have daddy around! A big thanks to both sets of grandparents for making this happen! We can't wait for next year!

Mikey

Mikey as Elmo and at Christmas always the character:)

Another Myrtle Beach

So this is my little brother Michael or to most of us Mikey. He is 24 and recently made a brave decision to join the army. He left for boot camp on Tuesday September 1. He will be gone til around Christmas time, and luckly will be home with us for Christmas and to see the new baby. I think about him through out the day, everyday! I wonder what he is doing and how he is holding up. I wonder what his day consist of and how many friends he has made. But most of all I pray that a 9pm when lights are out and he is lying there unable to sleep, thinking about home, that he has the strength to get through it. I believe this to be one of the hardest things, if not the hardest, that he has ever been through. I love him, miss him, thinking about him and secertly wish he would fail his hearing test so they would send him home (he did leave here wearing an ear plug in his left side)!

My Family

This is me with my wonderful husband Jason and our beautiful baby boy Mason. I have started this blog, with great hopes of being able to keep it up. Life moves so fast and there is just never enough time to keep up with everyone. I hope by creating this I am making it a little eaiser for those we love and care about to keep up with us. Please do not pull out your red pen. I am sure this will be filled with spelling and grammar mistakes. I will do my best and keep my dictionary handy, but no promises! I once had a college professor tell me, I would be a great teacher no questions asked however he did worry about my writing abilities, or I guess Lack There Of. Which I find to be funny since one of my ultimate goals in life is to write a children's book:)
