It has been forever since i have posted. Life has been very busy so i will try to catch you up to speed. Mason started soccer a few weeks ago. He practices twice a week and has games on Saturday. He likes going most of the time and does good at practice but when it comes to the game he freezes up. He is great at kicking the ball from the sidelines but other than that unless it comes right to him forget about him chasing it..haha. He did score his first goal last week, with a kick from the side lines. Nevertheless we were very proud of him! i am pretty sure his favorite part is the snack :)
I have also opened an etsy site with some things i have been making.. check it out at http://www.kellygmade.etsy.com/ It is fun to sell that stuff i make but very time consuming to post it all. I have also started major couponing (if thats even a word) i have cut our grocery bill by a ton!! It does take a long time to get everything together and to grocery store hop for the best prices but when you pay 50.00 and it should have been 106.00...it makes it totally worth it!!
Promise not to wait as long to post again and will have some pics to post of my kids in there cute st. paddy's day outfits.

Khloe is cracking me up with her pink purse. She carries it everywhere! She also loves her daddy's hat. She is learning so many new words. Night Night is the newest. I just wish she would say Mason..i would even settle for Mas. Mason trys to get her to say it daily. I just love these two:)

Baby Shower- Pink Deer

I am soooo far behind so i will keep these short and sweet and try to catch up. Here are several things i made for my new niece who is already past her due date. Her nursery is done in deer but i thought it needed a little pink....so pink deer it was! i just love the way these two deer wooden cut outs turned out. I bought an extra large cutout to make a hair bow holder. I used a glass knob in the center for headband ect to be hung from. Now i just need to make Khloe one...maybe a bird...or even an owl....um.... The baby gift of the year from me....another mobile. Can not believe my baby turned 4 last month. And of course he picked a theme that has no party supplies :( Chuggington the new Thomas the train is his new favorite. Here are some shots from his party. This is the first party I did a craft for the kids and i loved it... i see many many more crafts at birthday parties! I am becoming a huge fan of Saturday afternoon party's...no one is in a huge rush to get anywhere and us adults can pour a drink:) I would like to apologies now for my kids cakes...they get short changed. tag blanket, Easy beginner sewing project

a gift for my sister-in-law. I made this with fleece and fun ribbon. This was a super easy project and would be a great starter sewing project. Find a shape you love, make a pattern of it by blowing it up on your printer or free handing it, make eyes, beak, and wing sew the wing, eyes and beak on the front piece, cut lots of fun ribbon, fold ribbon in half and hold in place with a pin, place the bird wrong sides facing (the way you want it to look when you are done) and sew around entire bird about 1/8th of an inch). I left one ribbon tag in a loop for a hook to be hung. I love the bright colors and the bird shape :) Hope baby lillie loves it :)

Christmas went better than i had expected without my father. I know everyone was thinking of him constantly, I sure did. My dad wasn't much for spending money or having a bunch of things he didn't need..he lived by "less is more" which i guess my mother helped to balance him out some:) Years ago we started calling him The Grinch, even the grand kids. Throughout the years he started to receive Grinch gifts, ornaments, stuffed animals, underware,ect. It was super hard to see these things as they were unpacked and placed where they would have been if he were still here, but i am glad they were. Anyways i could go on and on but I will stop here to explain the pictures.

Winter Onederland

For Khloe's First birthday in December we had a Winter Onederland! It was a lot of fun, but as always I didn't get a lot of pictures of the decorations ect. I did however get some good pictures of Khloe. I had the party at my mom's so when Santa made his annual stop by all of the kids would be there. There were snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, pizza, ice cream sundaes, lots of laughing and hot chocolate bags and an ornament for thank you gifts. The kids had a blast enjoy the pictures below.

I know it isn't about the amount of money you spend when you give a gift, it's more about the meaning of gift giving. But what do you give your mother for the first christmas her husband ,your father, isn't here any longer that means anything. You know the one thing she longs for and thinks about endlessly is absolutely impossible. When the pain is written across her face and there isn't anything you can do for it. What do you get that person, what gift would mean anything to them?
As if shopping for my mother isn't hard enough, this year I had to try every harder! I asked her for a few pictures she really liked of my dad. When their wedding picture was in the stack, inspiration wasn't hard to find. My mother has always had a love for anything victorian. A trip to the scrapbook store for a few odds and ends, a raid of my mothers button stash (which I cut the plastic backs off of) and a little lace from my great grandmothers sewing stuff (dipped in tea for color) and a blank canvas, well this is what you get:

Handmade ornaments

A girlfriend and myself had a great idea of making ornaments every year for our family members. We had a good time doing this but over the years we stopped. I stumbled on a blog of a lady who made family ornaments and i thought, what an awesome tradition of making an ornament every year for each family member with a picture on it. How neat to see how everyone changes over the years and how neat it will be to pass on to my children when they have their own tree someday. So this year a new tradition was started. I have always used the photo frames from michaels to give each set of grandparents a pictured ornament of the kids but this is sooo much nicer! So each side got a gish family ornament. And of course i couldn't do all this work without making one with my dad on it. This was such a hard christmas without him but we got through it. He sure did make us a strong family. FAMILY was everything to him and i am grateful he showed us what that meant!!

So I have been selling my letters through work and off of my facebook page. I just love how these turn out and what a wonderful addition to any room!! I sold all but 1 of my Christmas ones and one that said FAMILY. These are a few orders i have done recently and have two more to finish. I also want to do a few more every day ones for the shop:) I need to do one for my mantel but i am having a hard time choosing a word....dream, hope, live...oh i just cant decide! Anyways tried to include a few close ups sorry they are so randomly listed.

What a crazy month we have had. Losing someone and having a couple of family members in the hospital this month has made christmas a little hard to find joyful. However, we have managed to squeeze a little fun in. Isn't this santa awesome looking and the best part...no mall lines and it was FREE. Bass pro shop was great. Tons of activities for the kids while we waited for santa and free pictures:) We also got a bit of snow so far this year. Mason has enjoyed it! I however, think snow was way cooler when i was a kid. It takes me longer to get mason dressed and undressed than he actual plays in it:) Post have been slow so i have a lot to catch up on:)

Everyday she changes :) Khloe just turned 10 months and is so very different than Mason. She is into everything including the toilet when i forget to close the bathroom door. She loves to play in Mason's room with him and all the cool toys. She has a mouth full of teeth and still refuses a bottle or milk from a cup...ouch!! She loves the cat and to watch Mason dance. She can now say mama, dada, heeeeyyyyy, and most recently bye bye. Everything she finds goes directly into her mouth. But on this day she has finally mastered clapping. As soon as she hears patty cake she starts squealing and clapping. What a big girl she is becoming

I haven't mentioned this yet so here goes. My mom sold her flower shop of 16 years. Its very bitter sweet but for the very best. She had wanted to get rid of it for the last several years and well with everything else that has happened lately it just needed to be done. Wish I was saying good bye to super late nights on the holidays and early mornings with feet that hurt so bad and a house that goes completely ignored and takes two weeks to get caught back up... but instead i am working for them. Anyways the girls who have it now are also selling handmade gifts. So of course I thought why not:) Here is a picture of my little tags. I thought I needed a name and this is what i came up with...what can i say i am sleep deprived. Also here are the first few items I have for sale at the shop bibs and a paci clip. Yea!!! I have several other items started just not finished. Hopefully i will sell a few items to help support my crafting addiction on a very tight budget:) It's so hard to make things to sell when you have little ones, so yes i make two of each :)

I was so excited to find these Halloween socks so i could turn them into these. These little legging are popping up everywhere, I even saw a tiny baby with them on this past Saturday at the fabric store:) I am working on a little jean skirt to complete the Halloween get-up. Jason's mother was throwing a baby shower for his cousin who is stationed out in CA but was home for a few weeks. I knew she had to get everything home from the shower so I decided to do something small and easy for travel. So here is another ric-rac blanket and paci clip. I also added a little book to the gift, but that was store bought:) I just loved the colors of the blanket....i see many many more of these in my future:)

okay so maybe my list was a little ambitious. But it was a hope list after all :) I did get 2 out of 3 bathrooms cleaned, made a fun hair bow, attended 2 birthday parties and 1 baby shower, made 72 cupcakes and delivered them safely, and well managed to get a little sleep and some play time! So the taxes will have to wait....your probably thinking no big deal right....haha they are last years, yes you read right i still haven't done mine from last year. opps you know a sign of adhd is procrastion...um just a random thought. will post pics of the parties later:)

i fell in love with this material from walmart in Nags Head. I simply made a bib pattern from one of Khloe's larger bibs, which i like cause it keeps her clothes clean:). This bib has a pocket on the front to catch falling food. The back is hot pink terry cloth. I have a few more bibs in the making. I love the fact it isn't baby pink:)

Khloe's Bird Blanket

And here it is, bird blanket or throw. I found this birdie material and I loved it just wasn't sure what to do with it so I stuffed it away. That was until I found a tutorial at www.sewmuchado.blogspot.com (ric-rac-receiving blanket) Her blanket was also out of a bird material. When I stumbled across the site my material immediately came to mind. The hardest part of making this blanket....getting it square! So glad a married a very handy man:) As you can see both kids loved it (mason insisted on sleeping with it the night i finished it). So yes of course I am making Mason one and another for a baby shower this weekend. So thankful Jason was with me to help Mason pick out his material...he wanted one with flames and eight balls all over it but luckily Jason talked him out of it. Thank goodness!!! What a quick and easy project:)

So here is the new craft room, not completely finished but almost there!! I just love it! Its so much brighter. Also my desk use to be half the width and along the wall...who wants to stare at a wall while they work:0 So now it shoots out into the middle of the room and i doubled the width of the desk. Ohhhhh how I just love it, did i already say that???

love the tree decal with the birds I made for it. i will be adding something to each side...um....just not sure what yet.

Hurrican Earl and Hatteras

Our yearly family vacation started off bitter sweet not having my dad around, then due to Earl we had to back up and leave after only being in Hatteras for 2 1/2 days. Someone said that is your dad saying how dare you vacation without me, but i don't believe that for one second. My dad would have wanted us there. He would have wanted us all laughing and having a great time. He would have loved the beach fires and country music Mike had every night, the cannon balls in the hot tub after a few to many drinks, and Captain Mike telling Andy Fox the Outer Banks was his vessel and he was gonna ride it out. It was a short 2 and 1/2 days but boy did we make a lot of new memories during that time. It was the first family vacation without my dad and another new beginning to our new normal. The Chair now and then! I always used my kitchen table chair for my craft room; however, in May i sold my kitchen table because i bought a high top table. I wanted to sell the table with only 3 chairs, but my hubby wouldn't allow it. My mom reminded me she had this chair in her closet from my childhood days. You see when i was in middle school my mom sponge painted my room, remember when that was cool. So i TRIED to make my desk chair match. Since sponge painting is no longer "cool" i couldn't have it in my craft room:) So a fresh coat of green paint it got. Not to bad for painting in the dark outside. One more down side, my old chair had a padded bottom so i am trying to make due with a way to large seat cushion.

Chipboard organizer

very excited to share this idea! I have tons of chipboard letters problem is they are everywhere in my craft room. I found this plastic container at Lowes on clearance for storing nuts and bolts. I couldn't buy just one so I bought three and a can of spray primer. I already had blue spray paint and the Marta Stewart sticker letters. I love how this turned out!! I am still finding letters in my room to organize:) You can see how I hung these on the wall in my craft room coming soon!

Craft Room REDO

I needed a pick me up in my craft room and I REALLY liked how bright my mom's room turned out. As though we needed another project around the house, with a bathroom in the middle of a major remodel and an eight month old without a finished bedroom, somehow I talked my wonderful hubby into helping me paint. Now we have several rental properties that we do most of the work and turnovers on ourselves, so painting just one room....that's simple!! Here are a few quick shots of my old room (sorry I didn't take the picture prior to starting to remodel but you get the idea)

Applique

Learning to applique!! Finally I have appliqued my first thing....a bib for Khloe. I love birds and anything with birds on it...well not actually birds outside just patterns, material, ect with birds on it. If Khloe ever gets a room it will be done in birds and a hint of owls. But for now a bib will have to work:) The bird is actually from a wooden cutout of a bird. I placed it on the printer to make a paper copy and then used that for a pattern. The bird will be used in a few upcoming projects. Thanks to my mom for coming over and teaching me how to do this!!! What a fun and easy thing to do. For me its always easier to watch and learn! Fish bib to come soon.

Paci Clips

Another item that has taken me forever to post. I saw these on a website, can't remember which one...I must get better about that!! I have a few more in the making. I do that i will use ribbon next time instead of fabric for the strap...it took much longer to make. But i just love how the flower hides the clip on the bottom, now if only Khloe actually used a paci :)

Growing up we had 2 of these that we would eat at when we watched TV (I also saw my grandmother use it to put dishes away more than once). I am almost 30 yrs old and my mom still has one very similar to this at her house. I looked for one for Mason for a few years at craft shows and had no luck. Grandaddy thought he could make them and that he did!! They turned out GREAT!! Mason uses his all the time, and i am sure Khloe will one day:) On the front side they even have a name plate...how cool. Thanks Grandaddy these will be passed down to their kids one day!!

Frog Baby Shower

Back in July I helped to throw a baby shower for Jason's Aunt who was having her 3rd little boy. Her theme is frogs:) Below are a few pictures from the shower: notice the trays on the table... i thought they added a little something to the table:) The diaper Cake is from her sister; however, I put it together. Below that is a close up of the trays and cupcake toppers. Cupcake Toppers are very easy to make with a few scrapbooking supplies. And last there is a picture of the favors I made. I finally figured out how to make my chocolate look smooth....vegetable oil:) I thought it turned out to be a very cute shower. Sorry it took so long to post....Baby Colton has already arrived and doing great!

So i found this idea on line and loved it...but can't remember where?? Sorry! I used these for a baby shower which i am getting ready to post pics of. I bought silver plastic trays from the dollar store 2 for $1 and painted them light green. I also bought 4 glass candle holders also from the dollar store and painted them blue. I then glued the candle holders to the center of the trays to create this. Tip: buy clear glue:) and i also primed everything. Stay tuned for the pics of them being used on the table....loved them and could see me making these in other colors for partys holidays ect.

Well I will try not to get all sappy mostly to keep myself from crying, but here are a few pictures of my dad mostly with the grand kids. I always said he was a teacher, he never just did something he showed you how to do it. Since he passed I realized where the teacher part of me came from...not sure why it took this for me to realize. He would have been coming home next week just in time for our family vacation. I think about him so many times through out the day. I could have never imaged my life changing as much as it has in the past 3 years. But as my dad told me when my great grandmother died, as i watched them roll her body out of the house, it was her time gotta pick up and keep on going. I often think of that conversation we had, I can remember exactly where we were standing, and it brings a little comfort to the whole situation. Doesn't make it any easier just adds a little much needed comfort. Although I am so incredible thankful for the 29 years of support and love he gave me, I feel so robbed. I feel robbed of many many more memories we should have had together. I feel robbed of the relationship my kids will never have with him. He always believe family was number 1, it just sucks ours was shattered so early.

oh how we are growing!! Khloe is almost 8 months old, how time flys. I will admit i can not wait for her to be able to do a little more by herself; however, i know i will miss these days when they are gone:) I just love when she smiles so big that her eyes close....makes me melt!! On Tuesday when I took these pictures she was almost able to pull up on her crib (at least its being used for something haha) By Wednesday morning she had it!! She gets so proud of herself when she gets all the way up. She just smiles and giggles!! She is also starting to enjoy some of Mason's other toys we pulled out of the attic, the stage being her favorite. Enjoy the pictures below of our growing girl!!

I am soooo excited to show this quilt. I want to learn to "really" quilt but for now this will work. Its a rag quilt and it took me forever with a new baby. I made mine much large than most i have seen on the Internet but i wanted Khloe to be able to use it for a long time. It has already come in handy when we were outside at a birthday party. It was nice to have something thick and big to sit Khloe on to play! i found my flannel at a neat fabric store down at the beach and i just love the colors!! Now i have to finish Mason's....it might be a while.

I have been told these are called hooter hiders, which cracks me up!! My girlfriend let me borrow hers one day at the pool, how nice it was not to have to make sure the blanket didnt fall off:) So i made one:) Mine final measurements are 24 x 34 This is gonna be soooo nice to have while we are on vacation. Pic taken by my 3 yr old...not to bad uhhh. Please excuse the fact i have no makeup on...just one less thing to do with 2 kids when you arent leaving the house

over the last few months i have started several craft projects very few of which i have finished. For memorial day weekend we had the opportunity to visit my brother in south Carolina when he was working out there. South Carolina is a beautiful place with so much to see and do. My hubby is a history buff so it was especially neat for him to see the forts, rainbow row, the market place and other sites. below r some pics of our trip. Oh yea what beautiful beaches they have!!

It has been hard to start blogging again. One month ago today i lost my father unexpectedly. Unfortunately he had been working out of town for the past 5 months and i had not been able to see him. He would call often and ask... you updated that computer thing of yours? Which always made me laugh, i would remind him it was called a blog and knew i must find time to get on the computer if for no other reason than for him. For the past several years he has worked out of town a lot prior to blogging i use to send pictures through ritz camera to a location near him and he would pick them up but since sept i was able to put pics up (mostly of his grandchildren)on here for him. Although my dad could be rough around the edges, family was sooo important to him and he would do anything for us, i know he truly enjoyed being able to see updated pics of his grand babies even if he never said so. So it has been difficult to start this blog because normally i would call him when i was finished and let him know to take a look when he got a chance:) and as always we would end our conversation with "I LOVE YOU" I am lucky to have had a father as great as he was, I just wish i had the chance to tell him that!!!

okay so i am about 2 weeks late but we have hit another milestone!!! After getting Khloe out of the bath and putting a diaper on her to avoid her from peeing on the floor which seems to happen alot i turned around to help Mason and felt Khloe up against my leg. When i turned around she had rolled over for the very first time and was laying against my leg :) How happy i was to have my camera sitting very close by. I don't think she liked it to much, she cried until i picked her up. Most of the time when she rolls over now she just cries:) I will be happy when she learns to roll over the other way! Nevertheless its times like this that remind me of how quickly she is growing:)

2 weeks ago we had to say good bye to some close friends. krystal and I have been friends since elementary school....now thats a long time. We happened to have our kids close to the same time which has made for many playdates together. Krystal and her family have moved to Vegas to help start a church on the strip. We wish them the best of luck and can't wait to see them soon!!

My Mothers Day

All I wanted for Mothers Day was to do something fun with my family!! Having several rental properties, a house undergoing constant remodeling, and a husband who works 10-12 hour days there just isn't much time for the four of us. This makes me sad cause i know our kids will be grown before we know it and we will look back and wish we had "MADE" more time. So for mothers day i didn't want to "have to be" anywhere at any certain time. We let Mason pick what he wanted to do and the ZOO it was:) It was a little chilly and very crowded but nonetheless we had a good time as a family!!!

They say hairdressers know all but so does your local florist. We know how many more times you send flowers to your girlfriend over your wife. We know when someone is in the hospital or has a baby and we know when someone has died. Guys come in to buy flowers when they mess up and for some reason they feel the need to share their stories with us. We know a lot!!!! We had more orders for mothers day than valentines day this year but not as much money was to be made. Many People spend a lot more on their girlfriends than they do their mothers....what a shame:)

What an awesome Easter. We had such a good time this year and the weather was prefect!! However, we did miss Papa for another holiday, hopefully he enjoyed himself in Washington State. Everyone gathered at our house and brought their favorites to eat. Mike fried a turkey for the first time and it turned out awesome. It was so pretty that we ate outside. The kids had an Easter egg hunt out back. Instead of candy this year we used mostly coins and they LOVED it. Cheaper and much better for their teeth:)

I think my husband is going through an early mid-life crisis. He wanted a boat so he got a boat. Here are a few snapshots of his new pride and joy. I am soooo tired!!! Life with two little ones can be a little crazy and overwhelming at times. But it is these two faces that also bring me sooo much love and joy. Khloe is growing fast, a little to fast. It won't be long and she will be rolling over and sitting up on her own.....she seems to be doing things a little faster than Mason did, hopefully that will hold true to potty training also :) Mason can be a huge help with Khloe at times! He loves to bring her lots of toys, he piles them all around her...its kinda funny to see. We can tell he misses some of that individual attention he got prior to Khloe, who wouldn't right, but we try to make up for it when ever we can. Things are getting easier though!!!

We met up with some good friends and had a good time:) And best of all with our money we supported a great cause...the fight against cancer!

For the last 16 years my mother has owned a florist. Everyone thinks flowers are fun and so glorious to work with, however, there is a very nasty side to working with flowers. The end results are nice and pretty but its a mess to get to that point. Anyways I have never been officially taught how to arrange flowers but I think being in a flower shop for 16 years completely out ranks in class or two that you could take. So my question is...and what do you do on the holidays??? I spend each and every holiday (except Halloween) working in a flower shop! Yes it can be fun but there is something to be said for enjoying your family time at home:) So here are just a couple of arrangements some lucky ladies got on V-day. PS. support your local mom and pop shops the economy is really bad out there and they are some of the only places you still get actual SERVICE!

So we finally had Mason's birthday party. We only had to cancel it twice due to snow:) Mason's granddaddy gish was a huge help at making this party so unique. With baby #2 here life can be very overwhelming at times. I feel like I constantly say "in a minute, or after I get done feeding Khloe" all day long to mason. It is a constant battle within myself to make sure I am spending as much time with Mason as possible. I have been including him in on more daily routines lately, he loves to help me cook especially when he gets to pour the ingredients in the bowl. He is also pretty good at helping me do the laundry...well not the folding part but he tries!! I know with a little time things will get easier but til then i just keep reminding myself i am doing the best i can, if only i had a maid to keep the house together my problems would be solved!! Well with two kids comes a feeling of "needing a break" a little more often. Doing something crafty has always been my escape or sanity. It is what I truly love to do for myself, however, I am so tired i am having a hard time being creative when i do get a minute. I have been going through some old scrapbook pages for some much needed inspiration. Plus i spend a lot of time working on these pages and I never show them to anyone beyond my mother, mother-in-law and husband becuase my craft room is always such a mess, so I thought I would share a few.

Found this clear sticker at a local scrapbook store, it is really neat. It has top movies and actors, the price of gas and basic foods, the president other important people, and top news stories of 2007, the year Mason was born. How neat will it be when he is much much older to look back and see these facts (also a pic from the hospital).
I was able to find these stickers for the year i was born and his daddy...just haven't gotten around to doing anything with them yet.

You can't read the story in the pic, its at the bottom, but I was on the phone with Jason's aunt around 11pm. Mason had found a bag with a few pieces of chocolate in it. You must first know that this kid LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEESSSS chocolate but he calls it CHOC. He came into the computer room looking like this. Yes it was 11pm. He was so happy but most of all he liked the sound his hands made as he squished them together. He was a mess to clean up but not as much of a mess as my couch:)

So I found this tutorial on a blog i love to follow called homemade by jill. I am not a big fan of pastels so i found some bright colored fabrics and here is how they turned out! One has a jingle bell on the inside and the other has pieces of a potato chip bag inside (to make it crinkle). I just need to sew up the opening and Khloe will have a couple of new toys.
